It has excellent infrastructure facilities and has abundant supply of labour, raw material, machinery manufacturers, knowledge of production techniques/skills and is strategically located. The private sector will be encouraged to establish necessary facilities for dyeing, printing, raw materials, machinery,
tools, spare parts and general stores etc. in the village.

With the objective of reviving handloom industry and to make it export oriented, Inkel has made feasibility study for setting up a Handloom Village in Kannur
